Formatting Using WORD

All assignments through Liberty University should be created using Microsoft Office WORD.  If you do not have this program, you can access a free version online through Liberty, or you can download the program directly to your computer--if you have the space--for use while at Liberty University.

Once you have created your assignments, you will either upload the work through the classroom link (Outlines and Essay work) or copy and paste what you created in WORD directly into a message window (Discussion Board posts).  Either way, whether the assignment is to be uploaded or to be pasted into a message window, you will want to keep a copy of your work on your computer in its Microsoft Office WORD format so that you have a copy if something goes wrong with the assignment process.  You will also want to make sure that you are properly using the formatting guidelines for headers, title pages, headings, and spacing in your work.  If you are not familiar with how to properly format such areas in WORD, please visit the tutorial links below to learn how to use these formatting requirements through WORD.

If you have questions about where to locate Microsoft Office WORD through the Liberty site, please contact your instructor for more details.

Computer Tutorials—follow these tutorials to help you properly format content in your Microsoft WORD documents when setting up papers in MLA, APA, or Turabian.

Each tutorial doesn’t take too long, and you will be amazed at how quickly these concepts will improve your overall format of academic writing.
